Three Stories from the Bench
Starting from Zero
Phattaraphong had no coding background and had tried two other online platforms before Modelwright. Both times he stalled after the introductory videos before writing any actual code.
Station 01 Build Track
He enrolled in Build Your First Program and worked through it over five weeks. Each lesson required a small submission, so he was writing runnable code from the start. Mentor feedback kept him from building bad habits early.
Working Programs + Confidence
Finished with four working scripts and a small capstone program. Moved on to Station 02 the following month. "I went from not knowing what a function was to having something I can actually show people," he said.
Building Something Useful
Jiraporn had basic Python knowledge but had never worked with ML tools. She wanted to build an AI tool for her work — not just understand the concept — but didn't know where to start with data handling and model selection.
Station 02 with Code Reviews
She worked through Build an AI Tool over seven weeks, submitting at each milestone. The code review sessions identified issues in her data pipeline that would have caused problems later. She rebuilt that section and it improved the tool significantly.
Working Text Classifier
Completed a text classification tool she uses in her own workflow. The data handling understanding she developed in the course has carried into how she approaches other data problems at work.
Going End-to-End
Anon had completed Stations 01 and 02 and wanted to build a complete AI application — not just a prototype — with proper architecture and a real user flow. He'd never done a full design-to-deployment project before.
Full Build Programme
Over twelve weeks he worked through the programme, taking part in peer review rounds that helped him see how other learners approached similar architecture problems. Mentor sessions helped him make better decisions at key design points.
Complete AI Application
Built a working document summary tool from scratch. Presented it at the capstone showcase. Now in his portfolio as a complete, explained project. He described the peer review experience as the part he learned the most from.
